About

A tool for people who design games, not for people who code them

Dice on Top started from a simple frustration: prototyping a card game or board game usually means scattered spreadsheets, generic design tools and hours fighting export settings for print. We pulled all of it — data, layout and playtesting — into one place, built specifically for tabletop designers.

Project → Deck → Card

Every game is a project. Inside it, decks hold your data (name, stats, rarity — whatever your game needs), and each card is a visual template that pulls that data in automatically. Change the data and every card in that deck updates on its own.

Two layout engines, one editor

Want proportional blocks that adapt to any card size? Use the Bento engine. Need full pixel-by-pixel control? Use Freeform. Both live in the same project — pick per card.

From prototype to table

Once the deck is ready, export a spritesheet with real print bleed, or pull your group into a 3D playtest right in the browser — nothing to print, cut or shuffle.

Still in active development, built by people who prototype their own games too.
