Dice on Top Terms of Use

1.1. Purpose of this agreement: These Terms and Conditions of Use (the “Terms”) form a binding agreement between you (the “User” or “Creator”) and Dice on Top (the “Platform”, “we” or “us”), governing access to the website, the web applications, the card layout engines, the 3D playtest environments and all associated services.

1.2. Legal capacity: The Platform is intended for individuals aged at least 13 (thirteen) years, or the minimum age required for digital consent in your jurisdiction of residence. If you are between 13 and 18 years old, you represent that you have obtained prior authorisation from your parents or legal guardians to accept these Terms.

1.3. Binding acceptance: By registering an account, importing data, using the design engines or making use of any Dice on Top feature, you express full, explicit and unreserved agreement with these Terms and with our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any clause, you must immediately stop using the Platform.

2.1. Prototyping features: Dice on Top is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) product built specifically for developers and enthusiasts of analogue games, board games and card games (TCG / LCG), offering:

• Bento engine: Structured, responsive layout in modular blocks that adapt to different card proportions and standard sizes;
• Freeform engine: Absolute, pixel-perfect positioning with support for layers, alignment, rotation and advanced customisation;
• Data & dataset management: Creation and import of spreadsheets/tables to automatically populate hundreds of cards in a single batch;
• 3D virtual playtest: Interactive three-dimensional physics simulation in the browser for dynamic testing of decks, dice rolls and tactile interaction;
• Professional export: Generation of print files with bleed, crop marks, PDF pagination, individual PNG export and cutting sheets (spritesheets);
• Data portability: Full export and import of projects in the open .doi.json backup standard.

2.2. Continuous updates: The Platform is under continuous improvement. Features may be added, modified, replaced or temporarily discontinued for scheduled maintenance or architectural improvements.

3.1. No royalties or claims: Dice on Top claims no intellectual property right, commercial stake, revenue share or royalty over the games designed on the Platform.

3.2. Unrestricted commercial freedom: You are fully authorised to commercialise, license, publish, send to print shops, enter into competitions or submit your games to crowdfunding campaigns (such as Kickstarter, Gamefound and others) with no additional payment to us and no prior authorisation from us.

3.3. Platform ownership: The source code, rendering algorithms, logos, trademarks, visual identity, sounds, interfaces and documentation belonging to Dice on Top are protected by applicable intellectual property law (Brazilian Federal Laws No. 9,609/1998 and No. 9,610/1998, and the Geneva and Berne international treaties). Reverse engineering, decompilation, unauthorised copying and automated scraping of the Platform's infrastructure are strictly prohibited.

3.4. Technical operating licence: To make the services work — displaying cards on screen, syncing changes to the cloud and processing PDF/PNG exports — you grant us a strictly technical, non-exclusive, worldwide and royalty-free licence, limited to storing, processing and rendering your content solely for access by you or by collaborators you have authorised.

4.1. Warranty of rights: When you upload images, vectors, typefaces, textures or spreadsheets to the Platform, you represent and warrant that:

• You are the rightful author and holder of the economic rights in the material; OR
• You hold a valid licence, express permission from the author or legal authorisation (such as public-domain works or applicable Creative Commons licences) to use it.

4.2. Prohibited conduct and content: It is strictly forbidden to use Dice on Top to create, store, export or distribute:

• Material that infringes third-party copyright, trademarks, patents or trade secrets;
• Unlawful, defamatory, slanderous or discriminatory content, or content promoting hate speech, racism, physical violence or sexual exploitation of any kind;
• Corrupted files, malware, trojans or malicious code intended to compromise the security of the infrastructure or of other users.

4.3. Indemnity: You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Dice on Top and its administrators against any claims, legal disputes, losses or expenses arising from third-party copyright infringement committed through the use of your account.

5.1. Accuracy of information: A valid email address is required to create an account. You undertake to provide truthful information and to keep your email address up to date.

5.2. Safeguarding credentials: Your password is personal and non-transferable. You are fully responsible for keeping your access credentials confidential and for all operations carried out through your account. If you suspect unauthorised access, notify our team immediately.

5.3. No abusive multiple accounts: Automated mass account creation, and any workaround used to circumvent the operational limits set by the Platform, are prohibited.

6.1. Hybrid architecture: Dice on Top operates on a modern synchronisation model:

• Central cloud (Supabase): Securely stores your profile, project metadata, decks, card definitions and settings behind row-level data isolation policies (Row Level Security — RLS);
• High-performance local cache (IndexedDB): Keeps working replicas and version history in the browser so that editing hundreds of cards at once stays fast and fluid.

6.2. Recommended periodic backups: Although the Platform maintains redundancy and synchronisation routines, we strongly recommend periodically downloading your projects in the open .doi.json format (the “Export project” option). Dice on Top is not liable for losses arising from the User voluntarily clearing browser data, or from incompatibility with outdated third-party browsers.

7.1. Free tier: Dice on Top offers free access with the essential features for creating projects, decks, cards and playtests.

7.2. Premium plans and future features: Any paid tiers or subscriptions to advanced features (such as expanded cloud storage limits, accelerated high-density rendering or priority support) will have their prices, billing cycles and conditions clearly disclosed on the Pricing page before any charge is made.

7.3. Price changes: Changes to fees for recurring plans will be notified to subscribers at least 30 (thirty) days in advance, with a guaranteed right to cancel before renewal.

8.1. Voluntary closure by the User: You may close your account at any time on your own through the Danger Zone > Delete account and data option in your account settings.

8.2. Deletion is irreversible: Account deletion is final and permanently purges your projects, data, decks and settings from our production databases, with no possibility of later recovery by our team.

8.3. Suspension for breach: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for any user who seriously breaches these Terms, uses the Platform for unlawful purposes, attempts to bypass security mechanisms or commits proven fraud.

9.1. Provided “as is”: The Platform is provided as is and as available. Although we apply software engineering and cybersecurity best practices, we do not warrant that operation will be uninterrupted or 100% free of errors or temporary inconsistencies.

9.2. Limitation for indirect damages: To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Dice on Top will not be liable for lost profits, lost commercial opportunities, or indirect, incidental or punitive damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, the tool.

9.3. Print calibration: Colours and dimensions shown on screen may vary physically depending on the colour profile (RGB vs. CMYK), monitor calibration and the equipment used by your print shop. We recommend running physical proof prints before any industrial-scale production.

10.1. Global access: The Platform may be accessed by creators anywhere in the world. When using our services outside Brazil, you are responsible for compliance with the local laws and regulations applicable in your territory.

10.2. Users in the European Union and the United Kingdom (GDPR / UK GDPR): Users located in the European Economic Area have the protections of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the rights to rectification, portability and erasure of personal data, as detailed in our Privacy Policy.

10.3. Governing law and jurisdiction: These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil, in particular the Brazilian Internet Civil Framework (Federal Law No. 12,965/2014), the General Data Protection Law (Federal Law No. 13,709/2018) and the Brazilian Civil Code. The courts of the district where the developer/maintainer is domiciled, or of the corresponding State capital in Brazil, are elected to settle any disputes, with express waiver of any other, however privileged, save for mandatory consumer-protection provisions in force internationally.

11.1. Periodic changes: We may review and update these Terms from time to time to reflect technological or regulatory changes, or the release of new features. When material changes occur, we will notify users through an in-app notice or by email.

11.2. Continued use: Continuing to use the Platform after the revised version is published constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.
